Mara can't choose, she likes a lot! 🙂 She likes cucumbers, carrots or a sandwich, among other things. She also liked everything from the snack package, but due to some issues with her teeth, she can no longer eat all the snacks. She also really enjoys wheat biscuits that my parents sometimes give to their small dog!
Mara has been eating vegan for over 8 years. Eight years ago she came to the Netherlands from Spain. I immediately switched her to vegan food (Yarrah en Amy Dog). That went well immediately. I don't know what kind of food she had at the shelter in Spain, but I noticed from the start that everything tasted and she's doing fine on it. I never felt like anything was missing.
I myself have been a vegan for 16 years, so it was obvious to me that no animal has to suffer for human needs. When I started taking care of Mara, I naturally studied the possibilities of giving animal-free - vegan - food. It was possible. I also knew others who did this and had good experiences. Why would you have animals killed for the food of an animal you provide if it is not necessary? In short; it just makes sense to give vegan food. Reactions about vegan feeding of 'pets' often say that it is not natural, but what is 'natural' at all about a well-bred dog that is physiologically very different from its ancestor, the wolf. For every animal it is about nutrients. And with vegan food you can get the nutritional fulfill the needs of the dog and not cooperate with the industry that exploits animals structurally. Then why wouldn't you?
Currently Mara is a fan of V dog crunchy nuggets. I often order it in combination with Greta, which she also likes very much. I used to teach Yarrah and Ami Dog. Sometimes she still gets it. Wet food gets it from Yarrah or Amidog. Mara is not that picky;) ”- Alex Roman
