Omega-3 Algae oil DHA and EPA, the most important omega-3 for heart, eyes and brain.
Algae oil is the animal-friendly alternative to fish oil, one of the most commonly used nutritional supplements in dogs and cats with a positive effect on inflammation, joints and fur. Algae are mini-plants that can make their own Omega-3 fatty acids (ALA, EPA and DHA) in water. Algae pass this on in nature to 'fatty' fish such as herring and sardine, when they are eaten. This gives algae oil the power of fish oil. Because Arctic Blue makes algae oil capsules from algae grown in a controlled environment, they also know for sure that it does not contain any contaminants from the ocean. The capsule shell is vegetable because the gelatin has been replaced by seaweed, among other things.
Omega-3 fats are among our essential nutrients. That means, like most vitamins, you have to get them through your diet.

Dosage
- Dog: 1 capsule per day (large dog possibly 2 per day)
- Cat: 1 capsule every other day.
Explanation of the composition
The vitamin E-containing natural antioxidant protects the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids. Vegetable tocopherols (including alpha-tocopherol) is vitamin E and protects the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids as an antioxidant. <1mg per capsule. Ascorbyl palmitate is the fat-soluble form of vitamin C and (just like rosemary extract) also protects the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids as an antioxidant. < 1mg per capsule. Schizochytrium sp. is the name of the algae species. Glycerol is a thickener that forms the capsule shell together with starch (see FAQs) and carrageenan. Together 25% of the entire capsule. Sodium carbonate is a standard acidity regulator in food, which in minuscule amounts (<3 mg) helps to ensure the firmness of the capsule. The capsule is free of artificial flavors and free of preservatives, colors or sweeteners.
