Our recipes list the amount of supplement required for that recipe. You can increase or decrease the amount of food you prepare by proportionally increasing or decreasing all ingredients in the recipe. Your cat's weight determines how much he or she eats, and our recipes have the right proportions to meet the nutritional needs of a cat of any weight. The supplement is best mixed with prepared hot foods, but the supplement can also be added during the cooking process.

Give your cat freshly prepared food for superior health. Use ingredients you trust without using animal products. ”

Although cats are carnivores, their nutritional needs can be met by a well-supplemented plant-based diet. The Vegecat ™ supplement provides the nutrients cats need from non-animal sources, including: taurine, vegan vitamin D3, pre-formed vitamin A and a building block of L-carnitine (methionine). Vegecat ™ recipes are carefully formulated to provide lysine (the other building block of L-carnitine), adequate protein, proper proportions of essential fatty acids and everything else a healthy cat needs. We do not recommend adjusting recipes without consulting an animal nutritionist

All recipes contain nutritional yeast. We strongly recommend that you use our VegeYeast to use, a brewer's yeast modified for acidity. If your cat is allergic to yeast, Vegecat ™ is now yeast free. Instead of nutritional yeast in recipes, you can add a 50 mg vitamin B complex twice a week.

The ideal urine pH for a cat is 6,0 to 6,5. The pH of the urine can be tested at home or at a vet. Wet food is best for cats' urinary health. If you mainly feed dry kibble, it is best to add moisture to the feed. Pureed vegetables add moisture and extra vitamins and minerals. Vegetables should not make up more than 10% of the diet to ensure that the protein requirement is met. See the recipe instructions for more information.

The Vegecat ™ Recipe Brochure accompanies the Vegecat ™ Supplement, and recipes are available online. Read the introductory section of the recipe brochure carefully before preparing meals.

You will also find wonderful recipes in Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats (4th Edition). Because the volume of the Vegecat ™ supplement has changed since the first printing of the book, portion size adjustments are necessary. See this web page for custom amounts, or simply add the supplement daily based on what it says on the package.

What is the best litter box for my cat?

When you are looking for a litter box for your cat, there are a few points that you should pay attention to: the material, the firmness, the shape and how easy the litter box is to clean. We are happy to explain more about it.

Cat litter material

In terms of material, it is best to choose non-porous material. You can think of stainless steel, ceramic or glass. The point here is that the cat litter cannot crumble and does not give off any odor or colour.

Firmness of the litter box

It is also important that the cat cannot just knock over the bowl. This is especially useful for the boss. This makes a container with anti-slip ideal.

Shape of the litter box

It is also important that you look at the shape. A cat has sensitive whiskers and these should not touch the litter box in an ideal situation. That is why it is best to choose a wide and low cat litter box.

Cat litter box maintenance

Finally, you also want a cat litter box that is easy to maintain. That is why it is useful to choose a cat bowl that can go in the dishwasher. It can also help if the litter box is smooth and has little relief.
