VegeDog: Supplement for Homemade Dog Meals

Note: VegeDog™ is intended only as a supplement to homemade meals. Do NOT add the VegeDog™ supplement to a regular diet that is already complete. Use the supplement only according to the recommended amount for your dog’s weight or follow the directions in the recipes. Altering recipes can cause vitamin or mineral deficiencies in the diet.

Suitable for Adult dogs.

Note: The Vegedog™ supplement is no longer completely yeast-free due to our use of selenium yeast as a selenium source. We sincerely apologize for any issues this may cause for dogs with a yeast intolerance. After careful consideration, we chose the superior selenium source because it benefits most dogs. Yeast intolerance is rare, but it can occur. The amount of selenium yeast in the Vegedog™ supplement is 5.4 mg per gram. The B-vitamin sources are not derived from yeast.

Feed your adult dog freshly prepared meals for superior health!
Dogs are naturally omnivores, but achieving the proper nutritional balance in a home-prepared diet is complex. Fortunately, Vegedog™ makes it much easier! Simply add our vitamin, mineral, and amino acid powder to wholesome plant-based foods, using the Vegedog™ recipes that come with your supplement, to create complete and balanced meals.

The Vegedog™ supplement is intended for use with our recipes, recipes closely based on ours, or other well-formulated recipes that contain enough protein and fat. Do not add the Vegedog™ supplement to commercial dog food. You may feed both commercial and home-prepared food, but the supplement should only be added to the home-prepared portion of the diet. Adjust the daily serving size accordingly.

Our Vegedog™ recipe brochure is included with the supplement. You can also find the recipes at https://compassioncircle.com/vegedog/. Please read the introductory section of the recipe brochure thoroughly before preparing meals. The recipes indicate the amount of supplement required for each specific recipe. You can increase or decrease the amount of food you prepare by proportionally increasing or decreasing all ingredients in the recipe. If you create your own recipes, based closely on ours, divide the daily serving size (as stated on the label) between meals. It is best to mix the supplement into warm prepared food.

Would you like to modify our recipes? You can substitute legumes for other legumes or grains for other grains. You can also add a variety of fresh vegetables or nutrient-rich toppings, but vegetables should not make up more than 10% of the diet. Too many vegetables can reduce the calorie density, protein levels, and fat levels.

The Vegedog™ diet no longer requires nutritional yeast for B vitamins, but our VegeYeast is a great way to add protein, additional nutrients, flavor, and acidity to the diet. We recommend adding some VegeYeast to balance the alkalinity of a plant-based diet, especially if your dog has had urinary issues or alkaline urine. However, nutritional yeast is no longer necessary for complete nutrition because we have added four additional B vitamins to the Vegedog™ formula.

In addition to the added B vitamins, the new Vegedog™ formula contains a higher level of choline (which acts as a B vitamin) and increased levels of the amino acids taurine and methionine. The amino acid L-carnitine has also been newly added. These amino acid levels are ideal for all dogs, even those prone to genetic heart conditions (unless a veterinarian has prescribed specific amounts of certain amino acids due to a pre-existing condition). Further improvements have been made in ingredient sourcing, including the switch to mineral amino acid chelates and the change to the more bioavailable selenium yeast as the selenium source.
