Description
Arctic Blue Algae Oil: The Animal-Friendly Alternative to Fish Oil
Algae oil is the animal-friendly alternative to fish oil, one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs and cats. It has positive effects on inflammation, joints, and coat health. Algae are the only plants that contain the same Omega-3 fatty acids as oily fish. This also means these unsaturated fats are just as susceptible to oxidation as in fish oil. If algae oil is old or less fresh, it can develop an odor. This algae oil is bottled in prime condition and protected by natural antioxidants from freshly pressed flaxseed oil, which also contains plant-based Omega-3 fatty acids. Nature at its best.
Algae oil is produced from cultivated microalgae in a closed system without external environmental influences. This process is similar to how yogurt and beer are made. The oil is extracted naturally and protected by antioxidants. A small amount of sunflower oil is added to maintain consistent levels of Omega-3 DHA, as these can fluctuate in natural algae.
The flaxseed oil is cold-pressed and unrefined, preserving the Omega-3 fatty acids. As a result, the oil retains its natural, spicy flavor and has a longer shelf life when refrigerated. The oil is decanted rather than filtered, maintaining a cloudy appearance, a sign of rich nutrients like tocopherols, carotenoids, and lignans.
