Note: VegePup is only intended as a supplement to home-cooked meals. Do NOT add the VegePup supplement to a regular diet that is already complete. Only use the supplement in the amount indicated for your dog's weight or follow the directions on the prescription. Changes in recipes can cause vitamin or mineral deficiencies or poisoning in the diet.
The VegePup supplement makes it possible to achieve the correct nutrient balance in your own kitchen. Simply add this vitamin and mineral blend to plant-based, protein-rich ingredients using the VegePup recipes included with the supplement.
- Non GMO
- Not tested on animals
- 100% vegan
The VegePup supplement is intended to be used in conjunction with the VegePup recipes. Recipe folders are sent with the product. If you have not received a brochure, please contact us. Read the introduction to the recipe brochure carefully before preparing meals. The recipes show how many grams of supplement are needed for that recipe. You can increase or decrease the amount of food you prepare by proportionally increasing or decreasing the amount of all ingredients in that recipe. If you make your own recipes based on our recipes, divide the daily amount between meals. Mix the supplement in warm prepared foods.
If you adjust our recipes, substitute legumes for legumes or grains for grains and take into account the protein content in your animal's diet. Puppies and pregnant or nursing dogs need about 30% protein in the diet. You can add all kinds of fresh vegetables to the recipes, but they should not exceed 10% of the diet. Essential fatty acids are especially important during the growth phase. The specific oils and flax ingredients in our recipes contain essential fatty acids in the correct ratio.
All recipes contain food yeast for the B vitamins. We strongly recommend that you use our VegeYeast This is a yeast that is more acidic than other food yeasts. See the recipe brochure for additional information.
In Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats (4th edition) also contain recipes for home-cooked meals. The content of the VegePup supplement has changed somewhat since the first edition of the book, so that adjustments are sometimes necessary in the recipes for the growth phase (VegePup). See the following web page for adjusted amounts, or simply add the supplement every day: www.CompassionCircle.com/Dr-Pitcairns-Guide
